I find myself in sunset
Wandering
Miles of mountains between me and my truck
Wondering
Up in the dry peaks, I find a roofless temple
A flat stone, no walls to echo
And no more questions
Purple mountain majesty
Nesting cushions of crimson
White rapids of horsetail brush
Tangling flamingos in fuschia pools
Sponge streaks of gray and silver
Alight with tangerines and lemons
Bleeding away
Originally right here
Deeper than the deep mountains
How happy I feel
As my water runs empty
In the cold night
