Ambling along, I find you humbly stretching
Sun beams filter through mottled leaves
Senses entranced by your lightness
Silence between us
Your presence unfolds like a riddle, infinite, lingering
I am smiling
Blossoming is your nature
The feeling deepens
My heart bows again and again
Inevitably a carpet of petals
Thoughts of taking you with me
Sun, rain, earth, for a fool's vase
Dreams on the wine of desire
Others get drunk, and can't be revived
Your nature, untouched in right view
Your needs, aspirations, and suffering
I meet them
With quiet compassion
Willing sacrifice
And emptiness that lets go
Idle thoughts come while sitting
Delusions restless as blackbirds
I find a place to rest in the shade of the grove
Then gather humus for my garden
